Our mixed martial arts classes are now open for everyone in our MMA gym in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland!

At CombatLab, our professional trainers (including MMA and Jiu Jitsu pros) conduct martial arts training for all levels where the goal is to let you learn and improve yourself in a safe and friendly environment.

What is mixed martial arts or mma?

MMA is a sport that evolved by combining techniques and exercises from several disciplines – including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Wrestling, and Judo.

This means that it is a complete fighting style where you learn striking, grappling, and ground techniques like submissions.

It was popularised in tournaments headlined by the UFC and is now a formal full contact sport with its own set of rules and rankings.

MMA’s main draw is that it is very accessible and easy to get into particularly for beginners who simply want to get fit, improve their strength and conditioning, while learning defensive techniques.

Instead of specialising in a specific form of martial arts right away, many choose to start by learning MMA and get well-rounded training that serves as a solid foundation for other sports.

We hold MMA classes everyday in our Coolum Beach gym in Sunshine Coast. These are open to everyone and you will be grouped with people with a similar skill level at the beginning to help you feel comfortable.

This includes newcomers who have never tried any kind of martial arts before, and also high level training for those who want to compete in amateur tournaments or professional leagues for Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai Kickboxing.
